It’s sunny and cold, it’s cloudy and cold, it’s cloudy and cool, it’s rainy, it’s not……weather in February sure can be mercurial!
However – it does make it a good time to sew! A lot of people are into the “using up” “using all the scraps” “de-clutter” modes right now and it is amazing to see what can be done with just scraps. Some of the prettiest quilts are being made right now!
Spring is coming though – and with it the beginning of quilt show season! After a few years of no shows, they are back! We are so pleased to be able to attend the shows in Oliver (April), Abbotsford (also April) and Langley (May)! More details can be found on our calendar. If you are in any of those areas, or head out to the shows to enjoy them – stop by our booth to say hi!
Our classes are now up on the calendar – and they are filling up quickly! Take a look and see what may tempt you……once you finish up all your UFO’s, what will you work on next?!

Contrary to popular belief, we DO sell batting!
Did you know that we carry a dozen different types of batting? Hobb’s is our major brand, and we have their Heirloom 80-20 cotton-poly, fusible 80-20 cotton-poly, Black 80-20 cotton-poly, Natural Cotton with Scrim; and their Tuscany Bleached Cotton, Washable Wool and 100% Polyester, and Silk. These battings start at 96 inches wide, and go up to 120 inches wide.
In addition, we carry Hobb’s Thermore Ultra Thin poly (45 inches wide), 124 inch wide Arctic Cotton’s 50-50 Bamboo-Cotton blend, and a number of Pellon batting products, including Thermolam Plus and Fusible Fleece . Great prices too!
We keep most of them in our Batt Cave – so ask to check them out next time you are here.
We are now many, many seasons in with our Challenge. This has been a great way to use some of our stash fabrics up, and get some old projects completed!
If you would like to join in just ask us how; we will fill you in on the guidelines (such as they are). Register your intent with us, and we will add your name to our Accountability Board!
Our reveal days are the spring and fall equinoxes, and the summer and winter solstices – the dates are listed on our Calendar. Our next reveal date is June 21, 2023
